The Late Peter Boddy.Master 1980-2001.

 

Peter founded the hunt in 1980 with draft hounds from the Isle of Man Bloodhounds,and the North Wawickshire Bloodhounds(formerly The High Peak Bloodhounds).A fear less self driven strong motivated man,who crossed country in formidable style following his hounds.The word "no" was never an opption,There was never a hedge, wall, dyke, to big to cross.His vision and character very much is alive on today.

 

Mr David Boddy.(1980)

 

A Joint founder of the Readyfield Bloodhounds back in 1980,pictured here with The Late Lady Anne Bentinck.The Boddy family has owned the private pack for 31 years,and has been the hunts robust central core throught and are undoubtedly a major factor in why it remains in such great heart today,and more importantly by the support of farmers and land owners such as the late Lady Anne.The pack is still Kenneled at Readyfields Farm Caunton where the family has lived and farmed for four generations

 

 

 

 

 

 

Huntsman Mr Bruce LangleyMckim.(2010)

 

Bruce took the position as Huntsman starting 2010.He was Master Huntsman

of the Cambridgeshire Drag Hounds for 6 years and has also Hunted the Granta Harriers.Bruce lives in Leicestershire  and has a working relationship with the Leicestershire packs,which is fundamental in the smooth running of the Hunt.He is well known in Leicestershire and Rutland by many landowners and farmers.

 

 

Senior Master Mr Graham Smith (2005)                                                   

Extremely busy local farrier,farmer and runs Fox covert Equines,  Graham joined as Master in 2005 and obviously loves his hunting.

He knows the Leicestershire countryside inside out and is our regular field Master for that area,A fearless fieldmaster who gives a great lead over the country and a very entertaining man to hunt with who always brings fun to the hunting field.

 

Mike Atkinson.(Former Master 2004-2008).

 

Mike has hunted with the Readyfield for some 25 years,He has great knowledge of the Nottinghamshire Country and has a great relationship with the Farmers,as well as being an experienced horse man and established field master.Mike is always passionate about making sure everyone has enjoyed their day with the Hunt.

Glyn Trundle.(2009)

 

Glyn Runs a farrier busuiness called Equity Shoeing,as well as whipping into the Readyfield Bloodhounds.

 

 

 

David Kitching Whip.(2002)                                                                     

David has hunted with the Readyfield for about 15 years and joined us as whip in 2001.  An electrician by trade, enjoys competing at eventing and showjumping, when time allows.

 

 

 

 

 

Ian Hanks,Quarry.(2008)

 

Ian seldom seen,seldom heard,but has a massive responsibility in running the line for the hounds.Ian who has a career in the RAF runs most if not all the Meets for the Readyfield.Ian is briefed with a map half hour before the start, then after a twenty minute start the Hounds are layed onto his line.Ian responsibility is to lay a line that makes hounds turn,cast to hunt his scent.He will not run a road but in the field either side in order to hold the scent.

Many of the days the Huntsman will not know the line Ian has taken,and added to this Ian will deveate from the planned route to test both the pack and the huntsman.

 

 

Charlotte Conway.Cap secretary.

Neice of David and Lesley charlotte has the responsibility of taking the cap

for the running of the Hunt.She also seves half time drinks at the pit stop,and is about to start University.

 

 

 

 

 

Phil and Fiona Kirk.

Leicestershire farmers follow the hunt repairing any damage replacing wire etc.If your out with the Hunt please report any damage to them immediately,it is not a crime to break a fence but it is a crime not to report it!.
